Food Storage Friday: Whole Wheat German Pancakes with Strawberries

Just a reminder that using your food storage does not have to be weird. It is even possible to get your family to eat it, and like it. I got this recipe from The Essential Mormon Cookbook, of course I adjusted it to include food storage. Enjoy!

Whole Wheat German Pancakes with Strawberries
Food Storage Ingredients
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 cup white sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Fresh Ingredients
3 eggs
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups milk
2 cups fresh strawberries

1. Preheat oven to 400. Put butter in a 9″ glass pie plate. Place in oven for 5 minutes or until butter is melted and bubbles. 2. While butter is melting, blend white sugar, flour, milk, vanilla, salt and eggs until smooth 3. Adjust heat to 450. Pour pancake batter into buttered pie plate. 3. Bake for 20 minutes. Reduce oven temp to 350. Bake for another 10 minutes. 4. Remove from oven,  cut into wedges. Garnish with strawberries and powdered sugar.
