It’s finally open! The long-awaited and greatly anticipated St George Children’s Museum! It’s even more awesome than I expected. And it’s FREE! Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm, Mondays are open to members only. “As a gift to the community, there will be no charge for entrance to the Children’s Museum at the present time. Donations are accepted and are vital to keep the museum running and open to every member of our community. Please don’t feel obligated, but even small donations are appreciated.” (They also appreciate volunteers. )
Some of the activities that can be found there:
A music room:
They also have a basketball room, a grocery store, a plane, a car repair shop, a bank, a government room, a post office and a radio booth. If you have small children, live in or are driving through the Washington county area, you need to check this place out. My kids can not get enough of it.
For me it was fun to see the rooms that I had worked on transformed into really fun places for my kids. I take no credit for how awesome they are. I helped paint the science room blue before someone, with actual painting talent, painted a solar system over it. And I had my YW’s group spend some time cleaning it, which was a good way for them to help out.
Some guidelines from the museum:
- Adult (18 years or older) supervision is required for all children. No child will be admitted without an adult.
- Groups: Please provide adequate adult supervision for your group. Recommended ratio: 1 adult to every 4-5 children.
- Adults without Children Policy: Adults visiting the Museum without children must leave a valid government issued photo ID with the Box Office during their visit. A museum guide will escort you through the museum.
- During operating hours we are unable to reserve any exhibit space for the exclusive use of any group.
